Bangladesh orders an Airbus C295W tactical-lift/transport
The Government of Bangladesh ordered one C295W tactical-lift/transport aircraft from Airbus Defence and Space (DS). The C295W will be used by the Bangladesh Army’s Aviation branch.
Airbus DS stated that the C295W will be delivered in the second half of 2017. The contract also includes training and after-sale customer support. The Bangladesh Army could use the C295W to transport troops and ferry cargo. The possibility of airborne infantry and medical evaluation operations are also present.
Notes & Comments:
The Airbus DS C295W is the newest C295 variant. In contrast to its predecessors, the C295W is equipped with winglets, which – according to Airbus DS – offers additional range and 4% in fuel savings. The C295W retains the platform’s strong performance in hot-and-high conditions.
