Bangladesh orders $11.5m in tactical radios from Barrett Communications
The Bangladesh Ministry of Defence (MoD) has recently awarded a $15 million AUD ($11.5m U.S.) contract to Australian vendor Barrett Communications for tactical radio communications equipment.
In an official press release, Barrett Communications will be supplying “High Frequency (HF) and Very High Frequency (VHF) [systems] in base station, vehicle and manpack configurations.”
Barrett Communications has been supplying HF and VHF radio equipment and training to the Bangladesh Army for the past 15 years, through which Dhaka has maintained an annual procurement program from the Australian defence communications vendor.
Notes:
On 12 October, Bangladesh also placed an order from Airbus Defence and Space for one C295W tactical transport aircraft for the Bangladesh Army’s Aviation corps.
