Pakistan’s state-owned enterprises (SOE) have shown significant strides in their efforts to develop counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) solutions.
In the past, the PAF had left domains like EW relatively untouched. But now, EW programs are at the forefront of the PAF’s modernization efforts, with significant investment going into both off-the-shelf solutions from abroad and in-house programs.
Pakistan’s frigate and corvette acquisition/upgrade programs will deliver a considerably more capable force by the middle of the coming decade, but there may still be room for improvement.
Pakistan’s reported VT-4 purchase is a stopgap measure in response to India’s T-90MS acquisition, but its effectiveness is debateable and Pakistan’s wider MBT modernization options limited.
