Pakistan’s Navy carries out missile test
The Pakistan Navy (PN) and the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) conducted joint-missile firings in the northern area of the Arabian Sea on Tuesday, 20 December (ISPR).
The Pakistan Navy Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Zakaullah observed a missile launch from F-22P Zulfiqar-class frigate PNS Aslat.
Notes & Comments:
The Pakistan Navy did not disclose the missile(s) used in the launch, though it appears to have been a routine test of existing tactical munitions, such as the C-802 anti-ship missile (AShM),
With the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Gwadar deep-sea port in mind, naval development has become a major policy issue among Pakistan’s defence planners. The Navy has many big-ticket items on its procurement docket, such as submarines, fast attack crafts, and potentially frigates.
